1854 Braided Hair Large Cent, N-9, MDS, "dartboard obverse", choice UNC.

Ex Jack Collins 6/3/1978 – Doug Bird – Robinson S. Brown, Jr., Superior 6/2/2002, lot 1298 – Goldberg’s 2/2016, lot 877 - Robert Kellert.

An excellent mint state example of the popular “Dartboard Obverse” variety. Light olive and steel brown surfaces with full luster and mint red on both sides – about 5% on the obverse and more on the reverse, at least a third of that side retaining its original color. No marks of any consequence, just a few toning spots on the obverse including one near the eye. Tied for CC#2 in the Grellman census as 62+. MDS (b). EAC 62.
