Ex Dr. James O. Sloss - Abe Kosoff 10/21/59, lot 325 - Floyd T. Starr, Stack's 6/13/84, lot 795 - Ted Naftzger, Goldberg’s 9/7/2009, lot 1232.

MDS (b). An outstanding coin, finest known of the die variety and pedigreed to three important large cent collections. Lustrous surfaces that retain about half of their mint red and elsewhere only lightly toned down to steely chocolate brown. Free from any notable marks or spots, wonderful eye appeal. EAC 64, CC#1 in the Grellman census.
