1835 Coronet Head Large Cent, Small 8, Stars, N-6, PCGS MS64RB CAC, choice.

Ex Charles Dupont, Stack’s 9/24/1954, lot 738 – R.E. Naftzger, Jr., 1990 EAC Sale, lot 199 – Manuel Ahumada, Goldberg’s 6/2017, lot 142.

A highly lustrous cent with a fresh, uncirculated look. Significant mint red on both sides, probably about 20% of the original color present overall, the remainder of the surfaces lightly toned down to steely chocolate brown. Would easily grade a point higher if not for some light carbon spots on the portrait and small areas of darker toning at the central reverse which appear to be the result of some minor planchet flaws in that area. Middle die state. A fantastic large cent with excellent eye appeal and should certainly be included in the condition census conversation for the variety. Has a nice provenance as well.
