1787 Massachusetts Cent, very rare Transposed Arrows, Ryder 2a-F, R.6+, PCGS PR/FR detail.

Ex Heritage 3/2016, lot 3458 - Mike Demling.

An iconic rarity not only in the Massachusetts copper series, but one of the most desirable of all state copper types. This is a well-traveled example - well worn, lightly granular, burnished, and holed - but the central detail is mostly complete and the eagle with arrows in its right talon is plain. The condition makes this piece accessible to many more collectors than would typically be the case. A special coin regardless of grade and sure to hold an important place in its next custodian’s cabinet.
