1787 Connecticut Copper, Muttonhead, Miller 1.2-C, PCGS AU58, choice.

An extraordinary Muttonhead with frosty, unworn surfaces and the most luster we’ve ever encountered on the variety. Conservatively graded by PCGS, this coin shows next to no signs of use and would sit very comfortably in a mint state holder. Well centered and nicely struck, though there is some rough planchet texture at the centers that didn’t completely smooth out upon strike. No notable post-strike problems to report. On the earlier side of the middle die state of the variety - a few obverse letters have been lapped away while the reverse legends and date are complete.
