1787 New Jersey Copper, Camel Head, Maris 56-n, struck over 1787 CT Miller 8-O, XF.

130.6 grains. An impressive Camel Head with interesting undertype. Sharp XF detail, glossy dark brown surfaces with tan highpoints. Trivial roughness in the fields visible with a glass. Undertype from the legends of the Connecticut Copper host coin visible at 6 o’clock on the obverse and 12 o’clock on the reverse, enough of the CT’s letters and the bottom of the effigy is visible to attribute it as Miller 8-O, the distinctive “Tallest Head” variety.
