“Inde Et Lib” (Latin, short for “Independence And Liberty”) is found on several different pre-federal state coppers of the 1780’s. Since these coins were replacing the British halfpenny in commerce, “Inde Et Lib” replaced “Britannia” as the legend on the coins as a symbol of the young nation’s unique identity and principles.
Kevin’s life-long interest in numismatics began when he was introduced to the hobby by his father at an early age. He was quickly hooked by his coins’ connection to history, the science of collecting, and the rich past time of the coin hobby. After graduating from Wheaton College (IL) with a degree in Theology, he decided to pursue numismatics full time.
Kevin founded Inde Et Lib in 2013 as a means to serve the numismatic community and put his knowledge and experience to work. He currently resides in Connecticut with his wife and two children.
Kevin is a member of ANA, EAC, C4, JRCS, and other numismatic organizations.
